Filming of Adrian
Lyne's latest
project THE TOWN is
scheduled to begin
soon in Charlestown
and other
neighborhoods of the
Boston Area. The
movie is an
adaptation of Chuck
Hogan's Boston-set
crime novel "The
Prince of Thieves".
The novel centers on a man who wants to clean up his criminal ways after falling for a teller at a bank he just robbed. Complications arise when the FBI agent who is investigating him also falls for the teller. The tricky love triangle threatens the recovering thief’s plans. The book won the 2005 Hammett Prize for excellence in crime writing. The project marks the Boston return of producer Graham King, who won an Oscar for his work on "The Departed." Adrian Lyne commented on the project during a recent interview: "It's a love story between a bank robber and the victim of one of his robberies in a bank, which he doesn't know, because he was masked when he did the robbery. It's a terrific story."
